Today in science we experimented with what would happen when we mix together corn starch and water (with a little food colouring added).
Today we used oil pastels to create self portraits. Here is our art.... Each of our students designed and then carved a pumpkin. It was messy but an enjoyable activity!
We continued our experiments with vinegar and baking soda today. It was a beautiful day to go out and practice our social skills with a game of tag on the playground area! Here are our milk sellers in action at the nutrition break. Good work! We ended the day by finishing our Halloween art scary faces. I'm beginning to see a trend here! Everytime we do our "cooking" we are so busy with the food that we forget to take pictures.
Today we carefully followed the directions to make chocolate pudding and all took turns to make it. The students did a great job together and no one wore it home! Tomorrow we will be looking more closely at the nutrition label on the package and try and answer some questions about the information we read there. Our flag challenge is still open! If you have the opportunity, point out a Canadian flag in your neighbourhood to your child and write us a note in the agenda. Who will be first to spot a flag in our community and tell us about it? In Social Studies we are learning about our great country, Canada. Today we read a story about the Canadian Flag and then proudly coloured our own. The students were challenged to look for Canadian flags on their way to and from school and tell us where they saw them tomorrow. Today we worked on the laptops to write sentences using Premier Talking Word Processor. Our students are beginning to use the program quite effectively and have fun doing it too! We also took time to look at this website and had fun watching our slideshows and video on the web. |
